Medicare
Medicare is a federal health insurance program for individuals age 65 and older, as well as those with certain disabilities or chronic health conditions.
Original Medicare consists of Part A (hospital coverage) and Part B (medical coverage). To help manage costs or add coverage, individuals may choose a Medicare Advantage (Part C) plan, which bundles Part A and Part B and often includes prescription drug coverage and extra benefits such as vision, dental, and hearing. Alternatively, Part D prescription drug plans can be combined with a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan to help cover deductibles and coinsurance under Original Medicare.
